Z!Q accepts submissions of:

Research Papers: previously unpublished papers containing novel ideas pertaining to any subfield of zombie research, including Zombie Medicine, Linguistics, Anthropology, Literature, Human-Zombie Interaction, etc
Surveys/Reviews: surveys which compare and contrast previously published papers, or opinion pieces regarding any zombie-related material
Fiction: short stories, serials, poetry, etc
Visual Elements: photographs, illustrations, smears of braaains, etc

To be considered for submission, please follow the guidelines below:

  1. You are encouraged to inform us of your intent to submit by sending abstracts or titles at any time in advance of the deadline.
  2. Written materials should be submitted in the simplest format possible, preferably a plain text file or a .tex file. (The layout will be standardized for publication, so there is no reason anyone should send Microsoft Word files. Please.)
  3. Visuals (whether standalone or accompanying a written submission) must be a minimum of 300 dpi. All reasonable file formats are acceptable, with a preference for .pdf or .png files.
  4. There are no length requirements. However, long submissions may be edited due to space considerations.
  5. Written submissions with accompanying figures or illustrations should be submitted as a single .zip file. The written portion of the submission should include a caption for each figure, as well as a clear indiaction of where the figure should appear in relation to the text.
  6. All submissions should be mailed to and should conform to the following:
    • Subject: "Z!Q intent to submit" or "Z!Q submission" (this is important so that the email gets filtered properly in the Z!Q inboxes)
    • Attachment: your submission
    • Body:
      a) the title of your work
      b) your name as you would like it to appear in publication
      c) your university affiliation or hometown
      d) an abstract (for research papers) or caption (for visuals)
